London: Protesters Create Ruckus Before Test Match in London, Police Rescue Players

England vs Ireland: The Indian cricket team is currently in London. This team, captained by dashing opener Rohit Sharma, has to play the final match of the World Test Championship (WTC Final-2023) from June 7 where it will face a tough challenge from Australia. Even before this, there was a big ruckus in London on Thursday. The protesters stopped the team bus itself. Later the police removed the protesters.

The England team is currently playing the only test (ENG vs IRE 1st test) match against Ireland. For the same match, when the England cricket team was going to Lord’s on Thursday, the protesters stopped the team bus. England’s wicket-keeper batsman Jonny Bairstow shared this information on social media. He also posted a picture in which policemen are seen standing in front of the team bus.

Demonstrations are being held in London with ‘Just Stop Oil’. Under its auspices, the protesters are demanding that the UK government stop all licenses and approvals related to new oil, gas and coal projects. Sharing the same incident on Instagram, wicket-keeper batsman Johnny Bairstow wrote, “If we arrive a little late, it will not be our fault.”

Meanwhile, ‘Just Stop Oil’ protesters and security personnel could be seen surrounding the bus in the middle of the road. However, the bus reached Lord’s on time and there was no delay in the start of the match.
