Australia’s star batsman Marnus Labuschagne has on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, ranked No. 1 in the latest Test batting rankings announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Marnus Labuschagne becomes No. 1 Test Batsman in ICC Test Rankings

Marnus Labuschagne New World No. 1- Marnus of Australia has become the new World No. 1 batsman in the latest ICC rankings. He removed England captain Joe Root after scoring a fine century in the Adelaide pink-ball Test.

Marnus, who arrived in Ashes 2019, has since flourished as the No. 3 batsman for Australia. He shares the top 5 ranking with Steve Smith, Kane Williamson, and Rohit Sharma.

Labuschagne, who scored 74 in the first innings of the first Ashes Test against England at the Gabba in Brisbane, was putting on a stellar performance in the day-night contest in Adelaide. The right-handed batsman scored 103 in the first innings as Australia scored 473/6 d, David Warner and Steve Smith scored in the 90s.

In the second innings, Marnus Labuschagne added 51 runs to his tally as Australia registered a massive 275-run victory in the pink-ball Test and went 2-0 up in the series. Thanks to such performances with the Player of the Match award in the Adelaide Test, Labuschagne has become the No. 1 Test batsman for the first time in his career.

Virat Kohli in ICC Test Rankings :-

India skipper Virat Kohli has moved down to 7th place in the latest ICC rankings. The development for the captain comes in the form of a new lower union with major revisions to South Africa’s tour of India. He is going through the century in the last 21 innings of 761 days.

Since then, he has scored only 5 half-centuries in the longest record. He last scored a Test century on 22 November against Bangladesh. In the last few years, his average has come down against his career average.

Rohit Sharma And Virat Kohli

The Run-Scorers in two Test Matches :-

Run-scorers in the first two Tests who have slipped to the second spot. Two Indians Rohit Sharma (5) and Virat Kohli (7) are in the ICC Test rankings. There is no change in the Test bowling rankings as Pat Cummins continues to hold the top spot with R Ashwin in second place.
