Queensland star batsman Marnus Labuschagne and Test candidate Joe Burns got off to a great start against Tasmania in a Sheffield Shield match.

Earlier, Tasmania had scored centuries by batsmen from Tim Ward and Jordan Silk, before the Tigers tied their first innings at the tea break.
Ward 23, who moved from Sydney last year to join Tasmania on a trickster contract, scored 144 in his second Shield match.
Jordan Silk was unbeaten on 100. He scripted his century off 131 balls in the final over before tea and Tasmania declared early.

Jordan scored 90 in Friday’s mid-session. as Ward and nightwatchman Neil-Smith pounded the Queensland bowlers in Tasmania after a hopeless opening session with a 54-run partnership.
