Sixteen-year-old openers Kelis Nadhlovu and Francesca Chipare, who made T20I debuts during the tour of Namibia, have also made it to the list.

Zimbabwe’s ongoing preparations for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier 2022 will continue with a tour of South Africa, where they will play five Twenty20 matches against the emerging South African women’s team.

Matches are scheduling for August 28, 29, and 31, with the final two sets taking place in Pretoria on September 2 and 3.

Visit UAE on 7th September for the Quadrangular Series:-

Zimbabwe will then travel to the UAE on 7 September for a quadrangular series against Thailand women. The United States (USA) women, and the hosts as part of their final preparations for the qualifying tournament.

Zimbabwe women are in Group B along with Thailand women, Papua New Guinea women, and United Arab Emirates women. Group A consists of Bangladesh Women, Ireland Women, Scotland Women, and USA Women.

The two finalists will qualify for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 to be holding in South Africa.

Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Under-19 women’s team is currently in the camp preparing. The first ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup is to be held in South Africa in January next year.

Zimbabwe awards contracts to 19 Players:-

Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has also announced the list of central contracts for the 2022/23 season.

A total of 19 contracts were awarding, with national women’s team captain Marie-Anne Musonda. And her vice-captain Josephine Nkomo as well as Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano in the Grade A+ category.

“As part of our commitment to the growth and development of our women’s game. We are pleasing to confirm the award of a central contract to a talented group of 19 players.” Said Hamilton Masakadza, ZC Director of Cricket.
