A Captained The Team in Four Matches :-

The decision comes a day after the Challengers management replaced him with Naeem Islam as captain for the remainder of the season. Mehidy Hassan captained the team in the first four matches before Nayeem took charge of the game against Sylhet Sunrisers on Saturday (29 January).

There also seems to be confusion over what the official line is on the change of captains. The organization insisted on head coach Paul Nixon’s removal of Mehidy as captain, but the all-rounder said he was not aware of such a change until a few hours before the game.

It was Quite Awkward :-

Mehidy said, “I was told that I was not captaining a few hours before the game and it was very hesitant. Nixon didn’t say anything to me that would suggest that he didn’t want me to be captain. He was quite a lot from me. Look happy.”

Yasir Ali said, “We will sit with him after a while and try to understand what is his problem. I am not sure if he is leaving because he has lost his captaincy, but we have to know about it.”

Challengers have also said that Nixon will now hold team meetings via Zoom for the rest of the season after being recalled by his county side Leicestershire.
