Mitchell Marsh and Ashleigh Gardner have emerged as the biggest winners at the Australian Cricket Awards 2024. Let us tell you that Mitchell Marsh became the first all-rounder since Shane Watson in 2011 to win the prestigious Allan Border Medal, while Gardner won the prestigious Belinda Clark Award.
Mitchell Marsh and Ashleigh Gardner won the award with so many votes:-
In the race to win the Allan Border Medal, Marsh received a total of 223 votes, which was 79 votes ahead of Pat Cummins. Gardner received 147 votes in the race for the Belinda Clark Award, 13 votes ahead of Ellyse Perry’s 134 votes.
Nathan Lyon, who recently took his 500th Test wicket, won the Shane Warne Men’s Test Player of the Year Award.
Ellyse Perry, whose batting has seen a lot of change recently, won the Women’s T20I Player of the Year and Women’s ODI Player of the Year awards.
Mitchell Marsh has also won the Men’s ODI Player of the Year award while Jason Behrendorff has won the Men’s T20I Player of the Year award.
Women’s Domestic Player of the Year: Elyse Villani and Sophie Daye, Men’s Domestic Player of the Year; Cameron Bancroft, Bradman Young Cricketer of the Year: Fergus O’Neill, Betty Wilson Young Cricketer of the Year: Emma de Broughe, BBL Player of the Tournament: Matt Short and WBBL Player of the Tournament: Chamari Athapaththu.
