India’s ODI captain Mithali Raj has welcomed a sports psychologist on board, especially during the pandemic when players have been put through extended quarantine and bio-bubble strictures.
ESPNcricinfo understands Mumbai-based sports psychologist Dr. Mugdha Bawre, who has previously worked with the Mumbai Cricket Association and Bengal Ranji team, is currently in New Zealand with the women’s team.

India is set to play one T20I and five ODIs ahead of the 50-over World Cup starting March 4 in the country, which means they are expected to spend around two months away from home as a result.
Mithali Raj feels that while every player has his own way of handling the pressures of the game, a professional guiding him personally has helped him handle situations better.
