Mohammed Shami out of T20 World Cup 2024, Jay Shah confirmed

T20 World Cup 2024: A big update has come out regarding India’s star fast bowler Mohammed Shami. Shami can make a comeback from the home Test series against Bangladesh in September this year. BCCI Sachin Jai Shah said this.

Mohammed Shami out of T20 World Cup 2024 :-

Another big news is that Shami has been ruled out of T20 World Cup 2024, which will be organized in June. Let us tell you that Shami has been out of Team India for several months due to injury. He played his last match for India in the ODI World Cup 2023. He underwent heel surgery in London last month, which may take 6 months to fully recover.

Jai Shah told PTI :-

Jay Shah told PTI, “Shami has undergone surgery and has returned to India. Shami is likely to return in the home series against Bangladesh.” 33-year-old Shami had bowled amazingly in the ODI World Cup. He took 24 wickets in just 7 matches. He was the highest wicket taker in the tournament. He played matches for India taking pain killers.

Shami had gone to London in the last week of January to recover from injury. Doctors first treated with injections. When Shami did not get any benefit from the injections, he had to undergo surgery.

Shami gave information about successful surgery on X :-

Shami had shared the information about the successful surgery with the fans on 26 February. He wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, “A successful operation has been done on the Achilles tendon of the heel.” It will take some time for the leg to heal, but I am eagerly waiting to stand on my feet again.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also encouraged Shami after the surgery. PM Modi wrote on social media, “May you get well soon and Mohammed Shami, I am sure that you will overcome this injury with strength.”
