New Delhi, Sports Desk. Maria Cummins, mother of Australian captain Pat Cummins, died in Sydney on Friday. Maria breathed her last on Friday after a prolonged illness.
Cricket Australia and the BCCI have expressed condolences to Pat Cummins and his family. Australia also said that the Australian team will take the field wearing black armbands as a mark of respect. Cricket Australia tweeted, ‘We are deeply saddened by the death of Maria Cummins. On behalf of Cricket Australia, we extend our condolences to Pat, the Cummins family and their friends. The Australian team will play today wearing black armbands as a mark of respect.
Pat Cummins’ Mother had Breast Cancer in 2005
Please tell that Pat Cummins’s mother had breast cancer in 2005. She was fighting a serious illness for the last few weeks. BCCI has also issued a statement. The BCCI tweeted, ‘On behalf of Indian cricket, we express our grief over the passing of Pat Cummins’ mother. Our thoughts and prayers are with Cummins and his family at this difficult time.
