Jayawardene has been appointed as the Global Head of Performance and Zaheer Khan as the Global Head of Cricket Development as now Mumbai Indians-owned Reliance Industries has teams from two more foreign leagues.

The owners of Mumbai Indians have assigned new roles to Mahela Jayawardene and Zaheer Khan with an aim to build a global cricketing legacy for MI. MI has expanded to include MI Cape Town and MI Emirates along with Mumbai Indians. In such a situation, the team management has considered the need of a central team for these three teams.

Zaheer Khan has been appointed as MI’s Global Head of Cricket Development, he will be responsible for the development of the players. Apart from this, identifying talent and building a strong team for MI. Raw talent has always been the key to success for MI. This role of Zaheer will be instrumental in helping MI teams across the globe.
