New Delhi, Sports Desk. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has appointed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) assistant bowling coach Onkar Salvi. As the head coach of its Ranji Trophy team for the upcoming Ranji Trophy season. Former Mumbai batsman Vineet Indulkar appointed as the batting coach while Onkar Gurav appointed as the fielding coach.

Former Mumbai Opener Vinayak Mane Appointed Batting Coach of MCA

Former Mumbai opener Vinayak Mane appointed as the batting coach of MCA. MCA had received seven applications for the post of head coach. And Salvi shortlisted by the Cricket Improvement Committee (CIC). Earlier, Salvi has worked as the bowling coach of the Mumbai team.

Applicants for the head coach’s job included former Mumbai coach Vinayak Samant, Vinayak Mane, Atul Ranade, former India wicketkeeper Sameer Dighe, Umesh Patwal and Pradeep Sundaram. MCA was looking for a fresh face for the position, who understands the needs of the players in today’s times.

Dighe to be Appointed Director of MCA Indoor Academy

Meanwhile, Dighe will appointed as the director of the MCA Indoor Academy. CIC has also appointed Rajesh Pawar as the coach of Mumbai U-23. On the other hand, Indian captain Rohit Sharma’s school coach Dinesh Lad will guide the U-19 team.
