The post of head coach of the Indian cricket team is currently vacant. Rahul Dravid’s contract ended after the World Cup. BCCI wanted Gujarat Titans coach Ashish Nehra to take over this post in IPL but he has rejected the offer. Now BCCI has reached back to Rahul Dravid. The board wants Dravid to remain the head coach till the T20 World Cup to be held in June next year. Dravid was earlier the head coach of Team India in all three formats.

The T20 World Cup will be played in America and the Caribbean on June 4 next year.
BCCI wants to appoint the new head coach as soon as possible. This was proposed to Ashish Nehra, who made the Gujarat Titans champion in his very first season as a coach. The next season the team reached the finals under his coaching. Players, former cricketers, fans, etc. of Gujarat all praised Ashish Nehra as a coach. However, Nehra does not want to take over the post of head coach of Team India right now.
If Dravid remains the head coach, the contracts of Mhambrey and batting coach Rathod will be extended
According to the report of Indian Express, captain Rohit Sharma and selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar believe that Rahul Dravid should remain in the post of coach till the next T20 World Cup. If Dravid accepts the offer, it is likely that key support staff like bowling coach Paras Mhambrey and batting coach Vikram Rathore will also be given new contracts.
Coach VVS Laxman is with the team in the home T20 series against Australia
Currently, India is playing the home T20 series against Australia, in which VVS Laxman is with the team as coach. There is also a report that after Dravid, Laxman can be appointed the head coach of Team India because he has been with the team as coach in Dravid’s absence on many occasions.

Dravid wants to spend more time with his family
According to reports, Dravid wanted to spend more time with his family and that is why he did not want to continue as head coach. He was ready to work as NCA head because his house is also in Bangalore and NCA is also there.
