In the two-day auction held on 12 and 13 February 2022 in Bangalore, all 10 teams came to bid for 600 players. Chennai joined many of its old players but did not bid on Raina. Suresh Raina had joined the mega auction for the 15th season of IPL with an amount of 2 crores. No team showed interest in buying him on the first day. After this, he again included in the final set on the second day. This time too, no franchise team showed interest in buying him.

Suresh Raina will not play in IPL

This will be only the second time after 2008 that Raina will not play in the IPL. He withdrew his name in the year 2020 due to Corona.
