Nothing like an IPL birthday’: Pat Cummins after KKR teammates smash him with cake

Australian Test skipper Pat Cummins turned 29 on Sunday (May 8). And he celebrated his special day with his Kolkata Knight Riders teammates, who smeared him with cake all around his face. The franchise shared a short 36-second clip from its official Twitter handle on Sunday evening. In which the players and members of the support staff were seen congratulating the Australian on his birthday. And later on in the same video, he was heard saying, “Nothing like an IPL birthday.”

One could easily see the cake smeared on his face, which was proof that the players had fun during the celebrations. Cummins, who was signed for Rs 7.25 crore in the mega auctions earlier this year. He has featured in four matches for the franchise. He has picked up four wickets at an average of 47.50 and a poor economy of 12.

In fact, his only remarkable performance in the ongoing season. He has come from the bat rather than with his primary skill, which is bowling. In his first game of the 2022 season, he equalled KL Rahul’s record of scoring the fastest fifty in the history of the IPL. He took 14 balls to reach the 50-mark against the Mumbai Indians on April 6 in Pune and remained unbeaten on 56 from 15 balls to help his side win the contest by five wickets in just 16 overs.
