NZ cricketer Rachin Ravindra Named after Indian-origin Sachin and Rahul. NZ cricketer Rachin may not have made much noise with the bat in the first T20I against India in Jaipur. But he grabbed attention from the field.

Rachin Ravindra is a 21-year-old of Indian origin. And his first name Rachin is a portrait of former legends Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid. Both have been named Rachin.

Ravindra’s Family Details :-

Hailing from Wellington, the capital of New Zealand. Ravindra was born to Indian parents Ravi Krishnamurthy, a software systems architect from Bangalore, and Deepa Krishnamurthy. Ravindra’s father, the founder of the Hut Hawks Club in New Zealand, moved to the country in the early 1990s. And previously played the game in Bengaluru.

Ravindra, who has been part of New Zealand’s squad for the 2016 Under-19 World Cup and 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, has also played in India during his off-season. “I have trained, played in RDT (Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh) every year for the last four years,” Telangana Today told Ravindra K Delivery.

He is a promising good cricketer :-

The report quoted Khatib Syed Shahabuddin, one of the coaches of the Andhra Pradesh Cricket Academy, as saying: “He (Rachin Ravindra) was part of the Hoot Hawks team that trained at the Rural Development Trust in Anantapur for the last four years. He is a promising good cricketer.

As a young cricketer, he has shown immense promise and appetite to excel in the form of a left-arm bat and left-arm spin.

At the time of his age-level cricket, Rachin Ravindra was agreed with Wellington in the 2018–19 season, while he made his List A debut against Pakistan in the same season.

He scored his maiden List A century while representing Wellington in the 2019–20 Ford Trophy and his maiden first-class century in the 2019–20 Plunkett Shield.

He was named in the A cricket team :-

In November 2020, he was named to the New Zealand A cricket team for practice matches against the visiting West Indies team. He was also part of the New Zealand squad for the World Test Championship final in June, although he did not take part in the game.

He made his international debut in September 2021 in a five-match T20I series against Bangladesh, which New Zealand eventually lost 2–3 to.

“My batting icon is Sachin Tendulkar. I’ve built my game on it since I was very young,” Rachin told Stuff. co.NZ back in November 2016.
