NZ vs AUS, Test: Cricket Australia has announced the squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against New Zealand on Friday, February 9. Fast bowler Michael Neser has returned to the team after a year and a quarter. He played his last Test with the baggy green cap against West Indies in December 2022.
Selectors expecting seam friendly wicket :-
Neser’s return shows that the selectors are expecting a seam-friendly wicket in New Zealand. Apart from this, not many changes have been seen in the Australian squad. The squad mostly consists of the same players who were recently selected for the home Test series against Pakistan and West Indies. The Test series against New Zealand will start from 29 February.
Neser has played only two Tests for Australia so far and both of them at the Adelaide Oval when captain Cummins was out due to COVID-19 protocols (2021) and injury (2022), although he will be playing for Australia from 2019 to 2022. Was a regular member of the Test team.

Scott Boland will also strengthen the pace attack :-
Apart from Michael Neser, the Australian pace attack will also be strengthened by Scott Boland, who was recently cleared to continue bowling after suffering knee pain during the Marsh Sheffield Shield match.
Matthew Renshaw retained his place as the additional batsman, with Australian coach Andrew MacDonald saying he and his fellow selectors were “in no mood” to change the batting line-up, although Green returned to the No. 4 position following his return. But while batting, only 64 runs have been scored in three innings.
