NZ T20 tri-series: Blair Tickner has been added to the New Zealand squad. Mitchell Santner will not be able to join the team until the weekend after the birth of Santner’s first child. Santner will be on parental leave in the meantime as the Black Caps. They are all set to begin their final round of preparation before the all-important T20 World Cup.
Blair Tickner has been added to the New Zealand squad
Quick bowler Blair Tickner has been added to the New Zealand squad for the home T20I triangular series with Pakistan and Bangladesh as cover. Tickner’s addition was necessitated by the absence of Mitchell Santner, NZC said.

Santner will be on parental leave in the meantime as the Black Caps. They are all set to begin their final round of preparation before the all-important T20 World Cup.
Ticker has played 11 T20Is for New Zealand
The 28-year-old Ticker has played 11 T20Is for New Zealand and picked up 12 wickets in the process. With an economy of 8.79, Blair has a good record in the shortest format of the game. However, with Trent Boult, Tim Southee, and Lockie Ferguson already part of the team, Blair can be kept on the bench.
Tickner also received his first NZC central contract
Tickner was part of the New Zealand team that toured Europe in the summer. Taking seven wickets in three T20Is against Ireland and the Netherlands. Earlier this year, he also received his first NZC central contract
The tri-series will begin with Pakistan taking on Bangladesh at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on October 7, 2022. New Zealand will join the action on October 8 by taking on the Men in Green at the same venue.
