ODI WC: ‘Team India not ready for World Cup’, former Pakistan star warns Rohit & Co.

Many former cricketers are unhappy with India’s series defeat against Australia and have also criticized Team India’s strategy. India’s top-order failure has been a major talking point, especially as the Rohit Sharma-led side prepares to take part in the World Cup on home soil later this year. Now former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria, while talking about the Indian team’s struggle in the batting department, said that the team is not ready for the World Cup.

ODI WC: Kaneria said on his YouTube channel –

“Virat Kohli took a long time to get back in form. There was no reshuffle in the team because there was Kohli. Why are you destroying Suryakumar Yadav? Why are you destroying Sanju Samson? Shreyas Iyer’s fitness is a matter of concern, will he be fit for the World Cup or not? What will India do? Team India will play world cup at home but they are not ready. India played bad cricket.”

Kaneria also praised Australian captain Steve Smith for his good captaincy. He said – “Australia played like a top team. Steve Smith deserves all the credit for his captaincy. He is made for captaincy. Australia will be happy to have him back.”

Kaneria further said –

“Australia lost the Test series, but the way they came back is commendable. They completely dominated India. With the ODI series win, Australia dethroned India as the number one team in the ODI rankings.”
