Team India achieved many big milestones in world cricket under the head coach of Ravi Shastri. Under the leadership of Shastri, the Indian team hoisted the flag of victory on foreign soil and beat big teams like Australia at home. However, being the head coach, the stain on Shastri’s hem was that he failed to get the team an ICC trophy and every time the Indian team fell on its face in the ICC tournament.
Ravi Shastri in a conversation with Sports Tak said –
“People in our country have a very short memory. If you want to win, you have to win. In my time we won two Asia Cup titles, but no one remembers that.”
Shastri added – “Anyone mentioned the Asia Cup? We won it twice. Nobody talked about it, but when we lost in the Asia Cup, the tournament came into picture. Why? That’s why I say the effort should always be there.” Ravi Shastri’s latest statement has come to the fore and says that he won the Asia Cup title to Team India twice while being the head coach, but no one remembers that.
Shastri said that you also need luck to win the World Cup. He said that everyone wants to win, but the important thing is that we try to give our best. The former cricketer also appealed to the fans to give some more time to the current head coach Rahul Dravid.
Shastri said –
“It takes some time. I also took time and they too would need some more time. However, Rahul has the advantage that he has worked in the NCA and was there with the A team as well. He has the experience of living with the player and the system. Give them time.”
