PAK vs AUS: The first test between Pakistan and Australia is going on in Rawalpindi. The hosts have won the toss and decided to bat first.

Meanwhile, the Australian player remembered the death of former wicketkeeper Rod Marsh. After which decided to tie a black band. Marsh died of a heart attack in Queensland last week. Marsh played between 1970 and 1984, scoring 3,633 runs including three centuries or Australia. He also made 355 dismissals in Test cricket which was a record after which he announced his retirement. Marsh also featured in 92 ODIs. In which he scored 1225 runs at 20.08 with 124 outs.

The current Australian team is touring Pakistan after a gap of 24 years. These two teams last played in the ICC T20 World Cup semi-finals, with Pakistan defeating the Men in Graeme to reach the final and eventually win the title.

Australian Test captain Pat Cummins shared his feelings on the sad demise of the former keeper. He spoke of Marsh being an iconic figure in Australian cricket and his influence on many cricketers in the current team.

“I, along with countless others in Australia, grew up listening to his stories as a fearless and tough cricketer. But his flamboyant batting and his brilliance behind the stumps in more than a decade made him one of the all-time greats. Our sport, not only in Australia. But globally. My thoughts, and the thoughts of the entire tour party in Pakistan, are with Rod’s wife Ross and their family at this terrible time.”
