New Zealand got embarrassed: Pakistan beat New Zealand by 26 runs in the third ODI on Wednesday to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match ODI series. In the match played at the National Stadium in Karachi, Pakistan batted first and scored 287/6 in the allotted 50 overs. In response, the New Zealand team was all out for 261 runs in 49.1 overs.

Will Young (33) and Tom Blundell (65) got New Zealand off to a strong start with an 83-run partnership to chase down the target of 288 runs. Will Young was unlucky and returned to the pavilion after being run out. Then Darryl Mitchell (21) with Blundell added 30 runs for the second wicket. Mohammad Wasim broke this partnership by getting Mitchell out caught by Shafiq. Tom Blundell also returned to the pavilion after being run out.

Captain Tom Latham (45) took over at one end but found no support from the other end. Mark Chapman (13) and Henry Nicholls (1) were dismissed in quick succession. Chapman was bowled by Naseem Shah while Salman hunted Nicholls. Captain Tom Latham was bowled by Wasim.

Record partnership of Babar-Imam :-

Earlier, opting to bat, Pakistan scored 287/6 in allotted 50 overs thanks to brilliant innings by Babar Azam-Imam-ul-Haq. Pakistan’s start to bat first was not good. Matt Henry got Fakhar Zaman (19) caught out by wicketkeeper Tom Blundell. From here, Imam-ul-Haq (90) shared a century partnership of 108 runs for the second wic1ket with captain Babar Azam (54).
