PAK vs NZ: New Zealand scored more than 300 on the first day against Pakistan, Devon Conway scored a century

The second match of the two Test series (PAK vs NZ) between Pakistan and New Zealand started in Karachi from today. The Kiwis dominated the first two sessions of the day but the Pakistani bowlers made a comeback in the last session. By the end of the day’s play, New Zealand had scored 309/6 in 90 overs. Opener Devon Conway scored a century, while his partner Tom Latham also managed to score a half-century.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first and the decision proved to be correct for the team. The pair of Tom Latham and Devon Conway did not give any chance to the Pakistani bowlers and completed their half-centuries in the first session. Both the batsmen stood firm and also completed the century partnership. By lunch, New Zealand were 119 for no loss in 30 overs. Latham was unbeaten on 67 and Conway 51.

Till tea, New Zealand had scored 226/1 in 58 overs

After lunch, Pakistan got their first breakthrough with Naseem Shah scoring 134 and Tom Latham scoring a personal score of 71. From here Williamson came to support Conway and both took the score beyond 200. Conway completed his fourth Test century in 156 balls. By tea, New Zealand had scored 226/1 in 58 overs. Devon Conway was unbeaten on 120 and Kane Williamson on 29.

After tea, a century partnership was completed between the two batsmen. However, Conway did not last long as he scored 122 to become the victim of Agha Salman at 234. On the score of 240, Kane Williamson also became the victim of Naseem Shah by scoring 36 runs. Darryl Mitchell 3 on 255 and Henry Nicholls 26 on 278 became Salman’s victim. Michael Bracewell didn’t even get a chance to open the account. From here Tom Blundell and Ish Sodhi shared an unbeaten 30-run partnership and both did no damage. Blundell was unbeaten on 30 and Sodhi was unbeaten on 11 till stumps. For Pakistan, Agha Salman took maximum three wickets and Naseem Shah took two wickets.
