Mandhana took the second ball of the innings:-

Coming to bat, Mandhana helped to hit her first boundary on the second ball of the innings. Then after a quiet couple of sets, where she was robbed by the strike, Mandhana climbed into Lee Taihu in the fourth set.

The southpaw brought Tahuhu straight into the ground to hit a big six off the second ball and then opened the blade to hit a boundary off the third ball. He then scored 19 runs in the over with a lofted drive-thru extra-cover to four to fine leg.

Captain Cross and Spinner:-

Mandhana and Danielle Wyatt formed their third fifty-over opening partnership in the same number of matches, with the Originals needing wickets to get back into the competition. And Kate Cross gave him the breakthrough when she pulled Mandhana the lamb straight over the boundary.

After Mandhana was dismissed, the scoring rate went down and Ecclestone got the big wicket of Wyatt when the batsman attempted to do a slog sweep.

Second left-arm spinner Hannah Jones dismissed Tahlia McGrath early on and completed a decent period for the original.

Lamb and Lee got off to a good start:-

The Originals needed a strong start to chase and Lizelle Lee and Lamb provided them with just that. Despite a frugal over from Anya Shrubsole, the original’s openers got enough boundaries in the power play.

Lamb hit two consecutive fours off Kemp in the third set, and Lee added 15 runs in the next set against Georgia Adams. He pitched the leg-side against the off-spinner.

Even slowed Adams to a max. And Lee’s boundary off the final ball of the fifth set ended the power play on 40 for no loss.

The ball ran for four through a third:-

Wellington got off to a good start with a delivery that got the outside edge of Lee but the ball ran through a third for four. However, the leg-spinner made a comeback in the same set when Lee found Mandhana at mid-off for 25 off 16 balls.

Even though Lamb continued to chase the original with a few hits, Deandra Dottin at the other end struggled. Wellington shrugged off Dottin and forced the batsman to chip him back with a straight.

In her final set, she skied dangerous Ecclestone for Mandhana as Wellington ended her spell with three wickets to her name.

Started the quarter with a set of three runs:-

Bell started the last quarter with a set of three runs, where he accounted for Campbell. In the next set, Lamb completed his half-century with a boundary off Wellington.

But after his milestone, two wickets fell in the same set, leaving the opener with a lot to do.

Lamb tried to pick up Shrubsole but the ball only went to Adams, who was in the short third of 57 in well-constructed innings.

Once Lamb fell, the Originals did not have the firepower to cross the line and were eventually reduced to nine runs.
