Pakistan cricketers have been allowed by the PCB to sign up with CSA’s SA20 league, after not being a part of the main player auction.

At least two Pakistani players who do not have PCB central contracts are required by the PCB to sign up with CSA’s SA20 league. And the process will allow each team to have an additional player in their squads. This has only changed after the league introduced new wildcard entries. The PCB has allowed contracted players to play in the SA20 league if they can get takers. The first edition of the tournament will start in January 2023.

None of the Pakistan players showed up in action for a variety of reasons

None of the Pakistan players showed up in action for a variety of reasons. Of course, there is the packed home season, and it was also thought that Pakistan players would be snubbed as the franchises. Here are all owned by the owners of the IPL teams (As previously reported by ESPNCRICINFO).

SA20 league commissioner Graeme Smith told ESPN Cricinfo-

“We are offering a wildcard pick.” “Post the World Cup, we’ll allow teams to pick another player. From a league perspective, we don’t get involved with the selection. Teams go to the market and choose.”

It is not clear why the PCB changed its mind. But it is understood that the postponement of the West Indies tour in Pakistan is one of the reasons. That tour, of three T20Is, was scheduled for January 2023. But it has been closed. Which provides a place in the calendar for the players of both countries. Which becomes available for T20 leagues in the January-February window.

PCB will keep its players away from ILT20

The PCB, however, will keep its players away from ILT20 as originally planned. Fast bowler Mohammad Hasnan and wicketkeeper-batsman Azam Khan were both denied NOCs for the first league. Both the players, however, were in contention for signing a deal with the Desert Vipers, one of the teams in the league that is not Indian-owned.
