Pakistan woman cricketer molested, PCB suspends coach

Pakistan Women Cricket: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended one of its national-level coach on charges of molesting a female player. A female cricketer has accused Multan region coach Nadeem Iqbal of molestation. Nadeem was a renowned fast bowler of his time and made his first-class debut for the same team for which legendary fast bowler Waqar Younis played.

PCB officials confirmed that they have started an investigation

A PCB official confirmed that they have started an investigation into the matter to find out whether Nadeem violated the terms of his job with the board.

“Obviously we cannot do any criminal investigation that the police have to do. But our investigation will reveal whether he has violated the terms of our contract,” the official said.

Pakistan Women Cricket: Fifty-year-old Nadeem (Nadeem Iqbal) has played 80 first-class matches. And was once considered a better bowler than Waqar.

The victim woman cricketer, in her complaint to the police. He has claimed that she had gone to Multan for PCB women’s trials a few years back. Then Nadeem was one of the many coaches present there.

Earlier in 2014, five young women cricketers accused the officials of a private cricket club in Multan of sexual harassment.

Last year, Pakistan’s Test leg-spinner Yasir Shah was also accused of helping his friend sexually assault a young woman and later threatening her. Though the complainant later withdrew the charges against Yasir, the case against his friend is still pending in the court.
