PCB chairman Rameez Raja sacked, Najam Sethi to be next chief

Rameez Raja sacked: PCB chairman Rameez Raja has been sacked. Najam Sethi will now take over the chair in his place. Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has approved the name of Najam Sethi. King had lost the three Test series against England. After that it was being discussed that Rameez Raja’s chair could go.

The faction of former board members started to remove Rameez from the post :-

It was during the England series that a group led by former board members started a campaign to remove Rameez from the post of PCB chairman. This group claimed that some game was being played behind the scenes.

The Law Ministry of the country had also met the Prime Minister, the patron of the board, for changes in the PCB. Talking about Najam Sethi, he was the PCB chairman from June 2013 to January 2014, February 2014 to May 2014, August 2017 to August 2018. This will be his fourth term.

Imran Khan made Rameez Raja the chairman

Najam Sethi resigned as PCB chairman when Imran Khan’s party won a majority of seats in the 2018 general elections. As per the constitution of the PCB Board, it is the Prime Minister who nominates the candidates for the post of Chairman.
