PCB is concerned over growing Indian investment in overseas T20 leagues

The increase in Indian investments in franchise T20 leagues has raised concerns of the PCB that their players will be deprived of opportunities to develop overseas.

The auction for the inaugural SA20 – in which all six teams were bought by IPL franchise owners. was held last week and there was not a single Pakistani player in it. In the UAE’s new ILT20, five of the six teams are Indian-owned. And the only Pakistani player involved, Azam Khan has been signed by the American-owned Desert Vipers.

PSL in lieu of giving NOC to PCB to play in other leagues

Preliminary talks have also taken place with other boards to discuss the possibility of mutual arrangement with regard to the No Objection Certificate (NOC). This allows other boards to release their players to appear in PSL in lieu of giving NOC to PCB to play in other leagues.

Pakistan players have not featured in the IPL since the inaugural season in 2008 and despite the positive relationship between Ramiz and BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, this is unlikely to change in the near future.
