Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is extremely serious about the fitness of left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi and batsman Fakhar Zaman, who returned to the Pakistan team for the T20 World Cup after recovering from a knee injury. The PCB is very serious about the injury of both the players and does not want to take any kind of risk.

In such a situation, the PCB has appointed a physiotherapist to look after fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi. And batsman Fakhar Zaman during the T20 World Cup in Australia. According to a PCB source, considering the nature of knee injuries suffered by Afridi and Zaman. The board has appointed London-based physiotherapist Dr Javed Akhtar Mughal to join the players.

Shaheen will need proper care during the World Cup

A PCB source said, “Doctor Mughal was part of the rehabilitation process of Shaheen and Fakhar. So he is well aware of their injuries. The PCB chairman decided that both the players, especially Shaheen, would need proper care during the World Cup.

Shaheen Shah Afridi was away from cricket since the tour of Sri Lanka. During the Asia Cup, he left for London for treatment. After the Asia Cup, Fakhar Zaman was also sent to London by the PCB for treatment. Both the players are fully fit and have joined the team.
