Afghanistan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai feels being a part of Gujarat Titans in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) will help them prepare for the ICC T20 World Cup to be held in the USA and West Indies in June 2024.

Azmatullah Omarzai told Cricbuzz during an exclusive interview :-

“Definitely taking part in the IPL will help me for the World Cup. IPL is a top class league and all the big players in the world take part in it and they are all very experienced,” Omarzai told Cricbuzz during an exclusive interview. So it will be good for me.”

He further said, “The plan is simple and it is the same for everyone. Wherever I go I have to work hard and believe in my skills whether it is IPL or BPL or any kind of cricket. My motto It’s very simple and it’s just believe in your skills and work hard and Inshallah, because I am practicing and working hard as well as playing matches, I will go into the IPL with a good mindset.

Important place of Rangpur Riders in Omarzai’s life :-

Let us tell you that Rangpur Riders have an important place in their future life, because they were sent higher in the batting order in the last edition of BPL, and they also got a chance to bowl with the new ball, after which they did the same thing for the national team. Also did for.

Azmatullah Omarzai is able to play cricket today only because of Bangladesh :-

Furthermore, Bangladesh holds a special place in Omarzai’s life, as he got permission to take up cricket as a profession only after he and his family members watched the Afghanistan team defeat Bangladesh in the 2015 Asia Cup.

On this Omarzai said, “Maybe that match was in 2015 and it was an Asia Cup match where Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh. That was my first match which I was watching live and after that game my father encouraged me to play professional cricket. Before that I was playing tape-ball cricket but after that match my family allowed me to play and take it up as a profession.”

Big disclosure also made regarding ODI World Cup :-

Omarzai also revealed the huge success achieved by the team in the last ODI World Cup. He said, “This was the result of long-term planning. It is not that you prepare before the World Cup and you get ready for the World Cup. This preparation starts two-three years before the World Cup and Our preparations had started in 2021 itself.
