Pollard’s helped Knight Riders top the table

Kieron Pollard helped Knight Riders top the table, and a power-packed pyrotechnic show helped Trinbago Knight Riders top. The CPL table with a four-wicket win over St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

The Knight Riders in third place in the table :-

The Knight Riders appeared to be in danger of finishing third on the table. As they entered the semi-finals, being reduced to 52 for 3 as the Patriots chased down a target of 148 in the ninth over. But Pollard chased after scoring 51 off 22 balls. a formality.

The result means that Trinbago Knight Riders will face fourth-placed St. Lucia Kings in the first semi-final, while the Patriots will face third-placed Guyana Amazon Warriors in the second semi-final.

Kieron hit a six off John-Russ Jaggesar in his first two balls to ease the tension. Two overs later he roped Jaggesar thrice and took 23 runs from the over, reducing the required run-rate from eight per over to just one run-a-ball.

He completed his fifty in just 20 balls and set a new Knight Riders record for the fastest fifty in its history. He soon fell to 51 but the damage was done. Isuru Udana scored an unbeaten 25 off 16 balls in the 19th over to take the team home.

Pollard’s innings impressed Fawad Ahmed, who took 2 for 16 in his four overs, putting the Patriots in a position to close the game.

Ali Khan took 3 for 19 in four overs, while Isuru took 2 for 28 to ensure that the Knight Riders were chasing less than 150 on. Joshua de Silva’s 50 off 45 balls and Dwayne Bravo’s 13-ball 25, the Patriots’ innings stalled in the middle overs.

Bravo scored a total of 147 runs by hitting six consecutive sixes from Ravi Rampaul. Udana’s successive wickets in the 19th over, including Bravo, helped Knight Riders chase down the much-needed target.
