The players of India’s limited-overs team on the tour of Sri Lanka were divided into two teams and a T20 practice match was played at the SSC ground here in which senior batsman Manish Pandey scored a half-century for Shikhar Dhawan’s XI while Suryakumar Yadav scored a half-century for Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s XI.

Bowling coach Paras Mhambrey happy for the team’s performance

Bowling coach Paras Mhambrey told bcci.tv that the coaching staff was happy with the performance of the players and they showed good spirit in the humid conditions.

Batting first, Dhawan’s XI posted a score of 154 for four in 20 overs thanks to Pandey’s 63 off 45 balls. The captain of the opposition team Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the most successful bowler, who took two wickets for 23 runs in four overs.

In response, Prithvi Shaw and Devdutt Padikkal gave Bhuvi XI a stormy start by adding 60 runs for the first wicket. After this, Suryakumar scored a half-century, due to which the team achieved the target within 17 overs.

Mhambrey said that the team batting later got the target easily so they decided to modify the target and give them a position where they have to score around 40 runs in four overs.
