Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Mithali Raj fiercely

Former Indian women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj on Saturday said she overwhelmed by the praise received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for her contribution to the sport. After retiring from international cricket last month, the Prime Minister had extended her best wishes and said that she has been an inspiration to many players.

Mithali Raj tweeted, “It is a matter of honor and pride that when one gets so much encouragement from our Prime Minister. Who is a role model and inspiration for millions other than me. I overwhelmed by the words of encouragement he said for my contribution to cricket.” She wrote on her Twitter handle, “I will always cherish it. I feel very excited for my next innings and will work hard to live up to the expectations of our honorable Prime Minister. In contributing to the development of Indian sports.”
