PSL 2022: Peshawar Zalmi overtook Azam Khan’s 45-ball 85 (six fours, seven sixes). And also ensured that they defended their 206-run total against Islamabad United.

Haris completed half century in 18 balls :-

Right-handed batsman Mohammad Haris took just 18 balls to complete his maiden PSL 2022 half-century. It was the joint third fastest half century in the history of the tournament. Hazratullah Zazai (13) and Haris put on 73 runs for the first wicket inside the power play. Haris scored 70 runs in 32 balls (7 fours, five sixes) before the dismissal of Waqas Maqsood.

After Haris’ loss, Zalmi’s rising pick Yasir Khan and veteran Shoaib Malik put further pressure on the combined bowlers with contributions of 35 and 38 runs in 24. Both hit two sixes each in 23 balls respectively. Islamabad United, however, managed to bring respectability to their bowling effort as Zalmi was held back in the death overs.

Waqas Maqsood took two and Faheem Ashraf took three wickets :-

Waqas Maqsood took two and Faheem Ashraf took three wickets. Meanwhile, Zalmi has moved up to third place with 10 points from nine matches. Zalmi has a one-footer in the play-offs. United has slipped to fourth place. But looking to grab one of the three available play-off spots.

Multan Sultans are the only team to have qualified for the play-offs. Lahore Qalandars are second with 10 points. Quetta Gladiators are at the fifth position with six points. The Kings are already out of the race for the play-offs. They are deprived of victory with eight losses in eight matches.
