India’s Test specialist batsman Cheteshwar Pujara achieved two big achievements against Australia on Saturday. As soon as he completed the 9th run on the third day of the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, he achieved two big achievements.
First achievement of Pujara –
Cheteshwar Pujara has become the fourth Indian batsman in Border-Gavaskar Trophy history to score 2000 or more runs. He now joins the club of Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid, who have done this feat earlier. At the same time, he has become the sixth batsman to score 2000 or more runs in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Pujara needed 9 runs to complete 2000 runs against Australia in the Ahmedabad Test. By doing so in the first session of the third day’s play, he became a part of an exclusive club. He is currently playing his 24th Test against Australia. Indian batsmen are currently fighting on the field to get the team in a strong position.
Second achievement of Pujara –
Apart from completing 2000 runs in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, Pujara also completed 1000 runs against the World No. 1 Test team Australia in India. In this case too, he is fourth after Tendulkar, Laxman and Dravid. Pujara’s effort will be to put India in a strong position in the fourth Test by playing big innings.
