BBL 2023-24: The Big Bash League (BBL) Suspends New Bowler Who Joined RCB. Tom Curran, the new fast bowler who joined Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL Auction 2024, has faced a ban in the Big Bash League.

Tom Has Been Suspended Before The Match Started:-

Before the match had even started, Tom was charging with a Level 3 offense and given a four-point suspension under section 2.17 of the CA Code of Conduct.

Regarding This, Cricket Australia Said in A Statement:-

This ban has been imposed on him for trying to intimidate the umpire or match referee with his language or behavior. Regarding this, Cricket Australia has said in the statement that “The umpire had taken a position at the level of the stumps and stopped Curran from coming near the pitch.

Curran was signaling to leave the pitch. “In the footage, Curran was seeing signaling the umpire to move away from the pitch.”

CA said, “Curran then attempted to run up and run straight towards the umpire, who was standing at the bowling crease in front of Curran. The umpire stepped to his right to avoid the risk of collision.”

The Sydney Sixers Chief Rachel Haynes Said in A Statement:-

Meanwhile, match referee Bob Parry has given Curran four suspension points for attempting to intimidate the umpire, match referee. Or medical personnel through language or behavior during the match.

On the other hand, Sydney Sixers chief Rachel Haynes has said in a statement that the club will appeal against this ban imposed for 4 matches.

A Sydney Sixers statement said:- “Tom and the club maintain that Tom did not intentionally intimidate any match officials and on legal advice. We will exercise our right to appeal the decision. We will support Tom during this period and look forward to his return to the field.”
