RCB have signed Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga, pacer Dushmantha Chamira and Singapore’s Tim David ahead of the UAE leg of IPL 2021. RCB resume Season 14 of the IPL on September 20, 2021 as they square off against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
In another important announcement, RCB announced that Simon Katich, who served as coach has stepped down on personal grounds and Mike Hesson will step in and discharge the duties of head coach for this season, in addition to his existing role of Director of Cricket Operations, RCB.
Adam Zampa, Daniel Sams and Kane Richardson Declared Themselves Ineligible for the Second leg of the Tournament:
New Zealand’s Finn Allen and Scott Kuggeleijn were selected for the national team for the series against Bangladesh. While Adam Zampa, Daniel Sams and Kane Richardson declared themselves ineligible for the second leg of the tournament.
All-rounder Hasaranga has been one of the brightest sparks for Sri Lanka’s white-ball teams. Who has won the Player of the Series title in T20I against India sometime back. His compatriot Chamira took four wickets in the same series at an impressive economy of 5.25.
Tim David Scored a Brilliant Run for Surrey:
Tim David turned heads during his brief stint with Lahore Qalandars in the PSL. Earlier, he had scored a total of 279 runs at a strike rate of 153.29 while playing for Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League. Since then he has scored a stellar run for Surrey. and has scored two centuries and one half-century in his last four List A games.
RCB have one more overseas slot to fill their roster. Which is expected to do so in the coming days.
Simon Katich Stepped Down as Head Coach :
Meanwhile, Simon Katich has resigned from his role as head coach of the franchise’s side. Mike Hesson will take over coaching for the remainder of the 2021 season in addition to his responsibilities as Director of Cricket.
