New Delhi, Online Desk. In view of the threat of Covid 19, Zaheer Khan told whether Mumbai Indians will get the benefit of playing at home ground. This time all league matches of IPL 2022 are being organized in Maharashtra. For this, three stadiums in Mumbai and one stadium in Pune have been selected. This time all teams can travel by road and there will be no air travel during the league phase. 70 matches of the league stage will be played at Wankhede Stadium, DY Patil Stadium, Brabourne Stadium and MCA Stadium, Pune. Wankhede Stadium and DY Patil Stadium will host 20 matches each while the other venues will have 15 matches each.

Director Zaheer Khan said that there is no advantage or disadvantage for any team

Mumbai Indians (MI) is the only team that will play home matches. The Wankhede Stadium is the home ground of MI. And the Rohit Sharma-led team will play 4 league stage matches at the venue. The rest of the teams are playing outside their home ground. So does playing at home benefit Mumbai Indians? Speaking to Sportstar, Mumbai’s Director of Cricket Operations Zaheer Khan said that there is no advantage or disadvantage. For any team and they can make a fresh start.

Zaheer Khan said that yes, Mumbai has been our home. But it is not like we are playing all our matches at Wankhede. If you see, all the teams are playing relatively equal amount of matches at all the venues. So, I don’t think there will be any advantage or disadvantage for any team. I believe all teams will start with a clean slate. Let us tell you that this time Mumbai will start their campaign against Delhi Capitals on March 27 at the Brayboard Stadium. Their final league stage matches will also be against Delhi on May 21 at Wankhede. Against Lucknow Super Giants on April 24 and against CSK on May 12 and Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 17.
