Hardik Pandya didn’t bowl a single ball in the five matches he played during the UAE post of IPL 2021, and it could be a problem for India going into the T20 WC. Rohit backs Hardik for doing well in IPL T20 World Cup.

While Rohit Sharma, Hardik’s captain at Mumbai Indians, said that the all-rounder was “getting better day by day”, he also said that only medical scholars knew when Hardik could resume bowling.

Rohit said after the match :-

“Physio, trainer, the medical team are working [heartily] on him,” Rohit said after the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. “As of now, all I know is that he hasn’t bowled a single ball yet.

We wanted to take one game at a time and see where he stood. You see he still hasn’t bowled today, but he is getting better.

Day After Day. In the next week or so, he may be able to bowl, that only the doctor or physio will be able to update on that.”

Mumbai coach Mahela Jayawardene had said that pushing Hardik Pandya too hard to bowl can affect his batting as well. But even without that extra workload, Pandya has forgotten the IPL with the bat, scoring only 127 runs at an average of 14.11 and a strike rate of 113.39. However, Rohit backed Hardik making it a valuable asset for India in the World Cup.

Rohit Sharma said, “As far as his batting is concerned, yes, he will be a little disappointed, but we know his quality. “He’s a quality player, no doubt about it, and he’s come back from tough situations before. He won’t be happy with his batting but the team has faith in his ability. I personally believe in his ability.

Apart from Pandya and Sharma :-

Mumbai Indians have four more players – Jasprit Bumrah, Rahul Chahar, Suryakumar Yadav, and Ishan Kishan – who are part of India’s World Cup squad. Barring Bumrah, the other three didn’t have a particularly great IPL. Chahar took only two wickets in four matches in the UAE and Kishan and Yadav also returned to form in the latter positions.

Rohit suggested not to use the IPL form as a marker. “I personally don’t like to read a lot about what has happened in IPL and what is going to happen in T20 World Cup.

T20 World Cup is a different ball game. When you play franchise cricket, it is different. So you can’t really match those aspects or see a lot.

Talking about Mumbai’s attack this year, Rohit said that the side wanted to pick up the pace during India’s post when the Covid-19 pandemic brought the tournament to a halt. And while the players could not perform as a unit in the UAE and failed to qualify for the team playoffs, they were proud to have won two consecutive titles in 2019 and 2020.

“We won the trophy last year here [in the UAE] so the conditions were no different for us,” Rohit Sharma said. “The point was we wanted to continue the momentum we had built with two back-to-back wins in Delhi but unfortunately there was a break because of what was happening in the country.

As A Group :-

“When we got here, some of our first XI players had some injuries and missed a few games at the start. Additionally, we should have done better, but we didn’t play as a team to start with, and Then as a group in public, we didn’t come together. That was the main reason for not qualifying this year.

“When you want to win games, championships, everyone needs to come together. And that’s what we’ve been succeeding in the last few years. That’s the hallmark of this team to come and perform collectively. We do that.” Do not expect one or two persons.

We always believe in everyone coming together and being involved in those performances. This year it did not happen. So it was a bit hopeless. But I don’t want to take anything from people, We have had two successful campaigns one after the other. This was not our year.”
