Mumbai Indians cricket team’s batting coach Robin Singh has come out in support of in-form captain Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, saying that they will find momentum in the remaining matches of the 15th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Ishan Kishan, who was bought by five-time champions Mumbai Indians for Rs 15.25 crore, had started well but is now in poor form and has not been able to deliver for his price so far.

The Jharkhand player has so far scored just 199 runs in eight matches at an average of 28.43. Robin Singh said in a virtual press conference before the match against Rajasthan Royals that we have worked out some things in which we felt that he (Ishan Kishan) could improve. Of course it is just a matter of getting better with the matches. “As you know, he (Kishan) started off very well. But then he slowed down a bit. We have worked on a few things and we expect him to return to the form he started with.

Rohit too has been struggling with a poor rhythm and has managed only 153 runs in eight matches at an average of 19.13. But Robin is confident that the star opener will make a strong comeback. He said that as a batsman you need to improve on those things which you consider important for yourself. I think he (Rohit) has worked hard. We have spent a lot of time with him in the nets, in the field and I think we have worked out what he needs to do like Ishan Kishan. He said that he knows his responsibilities as a person, as a batsman, as a senior batsman. I think he will come back strong. While praising Tilak Verma, Robin Singh called him a player of the future and appreciated him for his cooperation in the team.
