Rohit Sharma to Captain India in T20Is
Rohit Sharma will captain India in his first T20I series. After Virat Kohli stepped down from the captaincy in the shortest format. It is not yet known whether Rohit will be give the role permanently. For now, the only communication from the BCCI is a brief press release. In which the squad announced for the upcoming three-match home T20I series against New Zealand which begins on November 17.

The team does not have many first-choice players including Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami.
