During this, Rohit will also leave behind the record of veteran captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni). The first ODI of the series between India and New Zealand will be played in Hyderabad on Wednesday (January 18). Both the teams are performing well at the moment. During this, he equaled Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s record of most sixes in ODIs on his home soil. Rohit Sharma and Dhoni have the same 123 sixes. Rohit will leave Dhoni behind by hitting a six in the first ODI against New Zealand in Hyderabad.

Dhoni and Rohit Sharma jointly at number one

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar is the second number after Dhoni and Rohit in terms of hitting the maximum number of sixes in ODIs in India. Sachin has hit 71 sixes in ODIs in the country while veteran all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has hit 65 sixes. Rohit scored a total of 142 runs in the 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. During this, he scored a half-century. After Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill, he was at number three in the list of batsmen who scored the most runs.
