He said getting an injury is a part of the game and you can’t do anything about it.
Rohit Sharma said in the press conference-
‘Injuries are part of the game. Not much can be done about it. If you play so many matches, there can be injury. Our focus is on improving bench strength. That’s why you saw that we give opportunities to the youth.
Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2022 due to a back injury, Mohammed Shami has been included in the Indian team as his replacement.
Rohit Sharma continued-
“As far as Shami is concerned, he was hit by Kovid. Shami was at his home, then we called him to the NCA. He worked hard there. He is in Brisbane right now. The Indian team will reach Brisbane tomorrow. He is part of the team. Will practice together. Shami is very positive, his recovery has been good. He has had 3-4 bowling sessions. Everything is going well with Shami. We have tried a lot to manage the players but unfortunately the injuries play out. So our focus was on preparing the bench. Injuries can happen at any time. We wanted to give chances to the young bowlers.”
