Luke Ronchi: The trio of Tom Latham, Will Young, and Devon Conway dropped the ball well in their respective innings.

According to batting coach Luke Ronchi- The trio of Tom Latham, Will Young, and Devon Conway left the ball well early in their respective innings, which frustrated the bowlers. They lost Young for 54 but rode on Latham’s unbeaten 186 and Conway’s 99 not out to end the first day on 349 for 1.

Ronchi said. We did it quite well on Mount [Maunganui]. But we let ourselves down in the period that brought Bangladesh back into the game. We did it for the whole day today. The boys were wonderful.

Ronchi said: “Dev is a different person. He is happy at any score and is still batting.” He’ll sleep tonight, and start again tomorrow. He’ll just be Devon Conway. He’s put up some outrageous numbers from winter to this summer. It’s a pleasure to watch him bat.”
