Royal London ODI Cup: India’s Test specialist batsman Cheteshwar Pujara scored his third century in the Royal London ODI Cup on Tuesday. Playing for Sussex, Pujara has scored his third century in the last five games.
With this century, Sussex’s captain has reached the second place in world cricket in a special list, leaving behind former India captain Virat Kohli and Pakistan captain Babar Azam.
Pujara’s innings of 132 runs in 90 balls :-
Representing Sussex, Pujara’s 90-ball 132 helped the team score 400 for four in 50 overs against Middlesex. Cheteshwar Pujara, who is captaining the team, hit 20 fours and two sixes in his aggressive innings.
Opener Tom Alsop scored 189 runs in 155 balls. Pujara and Alsop put on 240 runs for the third wicket.
Cheteshwar Pujara left behind both Babar Azam and Virat Kohli :-
With this powerful innings, Pujara has surpassed both Virat Kohli and Babar Azam to record the second-best average in at least 100 innings in List A cricket.
Cheteshwar Pujara is only behind Australian batting great Michael Bevan (57.86 in 385 innings) with a current average of 57.48 in 109 innings in his career. Babar is second with an average of 56.56 in 153 innings and Kohli is second with an average of 56.60 in 286 innings.

Cheteshwar Pujara had earlier scored 107 against Warwickshire and 174 against Surrey. This is his List A career best score. Earlier, Pujara made a comeback in the Indian team in the fifth Test against England on the basis of his brilliant batting in the County Championship.
