New Delhi, Online Desk. Bangladesh cricket team has created history by winning the ODI series against South Africa in South Africa. Batting first in the first match of the three-match series, Bangladesh posted a mammoth score of 314 for 7 on the back of Shakib Al Hasan’s 77. In reply, the entire team of hosts South Africa was bundled out for 276 runs in 48.5 overs. With this, the team has won the first ODI against the Proteas team on their soil.

The team, which reached South Africa under the captaincy of Tamim Iqbal, achieved a historic victory. Batting after losing the toss in the first match of the three-match series, the team scored over 300 on the basis of half-centuries from three players. Shakib, Liton Das and Yasir Ali scored half-centuries and laid the foundation for the team’s victory. Captain Tamim also contributed 41 runs.

Coming to bat first, Tamim and Liton added 95 runs for the first wicket for Bangladesh. Andile Fehulkyo broke the partnership by taking the wicket of Tamim. The captain was dismissed for 41 runs in 67 balls with the help of 3 fours and 1 six. Liton faced the same number of balls and scored 50 runs. Shakib played an excellent innings of 77 runs, hitting 7 fours and 3 sixes in 64 balls for Bangladesh, who lost three wickets for 124 runs. Yasir scored 50 runs in 44 balls.

Durren and Miller’s innings went in vain
Chasing a big score, Van der Dussen scored 86 off 98 balls for South Africa. While David Miller scored 79 runs in 7 balls with the help of 8 fours and 3 sixes. In the end, both played a good innings but due to a poor start. The hosts could not get the advantage. For Bangladesh, Mehdi Hasan took 4, Taskin Ahmed took 3, Shoriful Islam took 2 and Mahmudullah took one wicket.
