Sam Curran, IPL 2023: What Did He Do in Front of Preety Zinta on Whom he Spent 18.5 Crores

Mohali: Punjab Kings landed in front of Royal Challengers Bangalore in their home. Punjab’s regular captain Shikhar Dhawan is not playing in this match. Sam Curran is captaining the team in this match. But Captain Karan made such a childish mistake at the crucial time that it becomes difficult to believe. Due to his mistake, the Punjab team got into a lot of trouble and had to face defeat in front of Preity Zinta, the owner of the team.

Sam Curran captained the team in the last match as well. He also got the responsibility of captaincy against Bangalore. Karan won the toss in this match and decided to bowl first. Batting first in this match, Bangalore scored 174 runs losing four wickets.

Sam Curran Made a Mistake

Punjab needed a good start in this match, which they did not get. The team had lost its four wickets for 43 runs only. Then came Captain Karan. For Karan, Punjab had spent Rs 18.5 crores. That is because Karan does excellent bowling as well as excellent batting. When Karan came to bat, the team needed him to stay on the wicket. But this did not happen.

On the fifth ball of the 10th over, Vijay Kumar bowled the ball outside the off stump. Karan played it towards the gully. Hasaranga was standing there. He saw that Karan is at the non-striker’s end and is taking slow runs. He wanted to capitalize on the opportunity and threw throws which went straight to the wickets and got run out. Here Karan was taking runs very carelessly and the team had to bear the brunt of it. Karan could score only 10 runs.

Punjab Got Defeated

Punjab had to face defeat in this match. In front of the target of 175 runs set by Bangalore, the Punjab team could not do much and were bundled out for 150 runs in 18.2 overs. No batsman could score a half-century for him. Prabhsimran Singh scored the maximum 46 runs for the team. Apart from him, Jitesh Sharma played an inning of 41 runs.
