Sandeep Lamichhane arrested: Former Nepal cricket team captain Sandeep Lamichhane has been arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Because the former captain has been accused of raping a minor. He was taken into custody by the police after a long time. At the same time, earlier Sandeep had denied the allegations of rape against himself (Sandeep Lamichhane Case) as wrong. But he later surrendered. When these allegations were made against him, he had left Nepal at that time. and had left for Kenya. Posting on social media, he wrote that he is ready to surrender and will reach Nepal on 6 October.

Sandeep shared a post on Facebook sometime back. In this post, he denied the allegations against himself, as well as wrote, “I confirm with great hope and strength that I am reaching Nepal this 6th October. And I will hand myself over to Nepal Police to fight the legal battle against the false allegations against me. I repeat again that all the allegations against me are false and I am innocent. Sandeep has unwavering faith in the justice system, I believe in all law and order systems. I hope that I get justice at the earliest.”

Sandeep was part of the CPL in Kenya, he was suspended

While Lamichhane was part of the CPL in Kenya, he was suspended from the Nepal cricket team after he was accused. After which the Nepal Police took the help of Interpol when Sandeep’s whereabouts could not be traced. Interpol issues a diffusion notice against Sandeep. Also, a warrant was issued against him on September 8 for raping a 17-year-old minor.
