Shahbaz Nadeem announced retirement, now plans to play abroad

Shahbaz Nadeem ‘s hopes of returning to the Indian team are now completely shattered and he has announced his retirement from all formats of Indian cricket. He has played two test matches for India, in which he took eight wickets.

Nadeem made his international debut in 2019 and played his last Test in 2021. Nadeem played his last first-class match in the ongoing Ranji Trophy. He was in Jharkhand team. After retirement, he is planning to play in different T20 leagues around the world.

Shahbaz Nadeem told ESPNcricinfo :-

Nadeem told ESPNcricinfo, “I was thinking about retirement for a long time. I have now decided to retire from all three formats. I always feel that when you have some motivation, you keep pushing yourself to perform well. However, now I know that if I don’t get a chance in the Indian team, it would be better if I give a chance to young cricketers. Now I am also planning to play in T20 leagues around the world.

How was Nadeem’s career :-

34-year-old Nadeem played 140 matches in first class cricket and took 542 wickets in his name. He also scored 2784 runs during this period. He was the leading wicket-taker in Ranji Trophy in 2015–16 and 2016–17. He took 175 wickets in List A and 125 wickets in T20. Nadeem appeared in 72 matches in IPL and took 48 wickets. He played his last match in IPL in 2021. He was then part of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). He did not find any buyer in the IPL 2024 auction.
