Shakib Al Hasan has become the highest wicket-taker in T20 International cricket after taking 5 wickets in the 2nd T20I match against Ireland. He has left behind New Zealand fast bowler Tim Southee. Shakib now has 136 wickets in T20Is. The second number Tim Southee has 134 wickets in his name.

Shakib has played seven T20I World Cups –

Shakib achieved the feat after dismissing George Dockrell lbw on the third ball of the sixth over. He has taken 136 wickets in T20I cricket at an average of 20.67 with an economy rate of 6.8. Apart from this, he also has 2339 runs to his name at a strike rate of 122.33. He achieved this feat on 29 March.

Let us tell you that Bangladesh has taken a 2-0 lead in the three-match T20I series against Ireland. Bangladesh defeated the visiting team by 77 runs in the match played on March 29 in Chittagong. Bangladesh is second consecutive T20I series win over Ireland. Earlier in 2012, the Bangladeshi team got 3-0 success in three matches.
