Shakib Al Hasan believes Bangladesh have plenty of time to prepare for T20 World Cup The tournament will build a “winning mentality” after the recent series wins against Australia and New Zealand.

Shakib and Mustafizur to play in UAE leg of IPL :-

Bangladesh will arrive at Attraction at least two weeks before their first match, while Shakib and Mustafizur Rahman will play in the UAE leg of the IPL, which Shakib feels will help them gain intelligence for the team.

Shakib said, ‘I hope IPL will help everyone. “We will spend time in those conditions, play matches too. Mustafiz and I can share experiences with the rest of the team. We will understand the sentiments of the other players, what they are thinking about the Bangladesh T20 World Cup, and then report on it.” Will call our players back.

“Our team will be in Oman at least 15-16 days before the World Cup, which is plenty of time to adjust to the conditions and the wickets. I don’t think the pitches and conditions here will have any effect there. Winning has built the mindset, which will help us to be stable in the World Cup.”

The Criticism of the pitches of the National Stadium :-

However, Shakib Al Hasan continued to criticize the pitches at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, where Bangladesh won the last two T20I series against Australia and New Zealand.

Shakib was one of four batsmen to score more than 100 runs in two series at an average of 17.66 with a strike-rate of 97.54 batting in the top order in nine matches. Public batting averages in both series were 14.73 and 16.48 respectively.

Hassan said after the first match against New Zealand that the pitch was more difficult than the one used in the Australia series. He said that if the batsmen have to do well in the T20 World Cup, then they have to forget playing in Dhaka.

“Those who have played the last nine-ten matches, they are all out of form. The wicket was like that. Nobody did well. I hope the batsmen don’t count on this performance,” he said.

The Career will End :-

“If a batsman plays 10-15 matches on these wickets then career will be over. Everyone will work hard to win the game for the country.

“I think we are well prepared after winning these last three (T20I) series. There has been a lot of criticism about the pitches and low scores, but nothing is better than a win.

“That kind of winning streak takes the confidence to a different association. If you play well but you lose, you won’t have it. We want to go to the World Cup with self-confidence.”
